About Shane-Louise - Freelance Photo Editor

Hi, I'm Shane-Louise. Editor. Dog mum, Mountain lover and skier. UK based

Let's skip the corporate bio and get to the good stuff.

I didn't plan any of this.

Someone I worked with had a photography studio. I started spending my spare time there, learning to shoot, learning to edit, just soaking it all up. They introduced me to another local photographer who taught me an enormous amount of photo editing, and who I still work with today. From there it snowballed, more photographers, more studios, numerous equestrian events company where I went from being behind the camera in the biggest arenas in the country, to sitting in the trade stand editing ordered photos and videos on the spot.

I thought I wanted to be a photographer. And I did shoot, I still do occasionally. But every time I pushed into photography, a photo editing opportunity would appear and grab me by the collar.

Every. Single. Time.

Eventually I stopped fighting it.

Editing kept nudging. I finally listened. Eighteen years later, I'm very glad I did.

So what actually makes me good at this?

I'm reliable to a fault. I research everything obsessively before I make a decision, which means when I commit to something, I've already thought it through from every angle. I have a creative eye that I spent years developing behind a camera, and I bring that to every edit service i provide.

I genuinely understand what photographers are going for, because I've been there.

I also know how to juggle. Literally. But also professionally.

My clients will tell you I always get it. The style, the feeling, what they're actually asking for even when they're not quite sure how to say it. That's not something you can fake after 18 years, you either develop the instinct or you don't.

And when I'm not editing?

I'm probably in the van.

My partner and I have a campervan, a shared love of skiing (I'm pretty good, just putting that out there), and a Samoyed called Lumi who is objectively the best dog in the world and occasionally my running partner. We run together, slowly and happily, which is the only correct way to run.

When I'm not doing any of that, you'll find me at a festival, down a research rabbit hole about something I'm about to buy, or with the office door wide open, sun blazing in, editing something brilliant.

That last one is genuinely my happy place. The variety, the creativity, the constant new challenges, it still lights me up. Every job is different. Every photographer has their own eye. Figuring out how to disappear into someone else's style and make it better, that never gets old.

(Taylor Swift may or may not be playing. I also like rock and drum and bass so don't come for me.)

The short version:

18 years of experience. One very fluffy dog. Zero tolerance for boring edits. Completely at your service.
